It's tough for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The top summits have been successfully scaled.

We're talking about the squad that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to six more T20 titles, and once went nearly four years without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, targeted by the achievement hunters, are the only things left for a side that has won it all.

That it took up to Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to accomplish their maiden ODI chase over 300, taking back their record for the highest in the female 50-over format, is, frankly, a compliment to the pitchers that have worn canary yellow over the last half-century.

It's difficult for their batsmen to hold a record if not provided the possibility.

If this newest brilliant performance topped that previous effort can be debated.

Some will argue the argument supporting final game tension. Others can counter with the challenge that comes when confronting a historic chase and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's definite is this ton was much more difficult to see coming.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 happened while she topped the run-scoring charts, but this innings was preceded by six games in India since the start of last month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've been watching me in the nets, it was a frustrating experience because it seemed I lacked timing whatsoever," stated Healy.

"But once you enter the playing area, your fighting spirit activate and you just lock into the match."

Healy's competitiveness has always been her great strength - and an irreplaceable characteristic in replacing legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, dismissed by the emerging pace bowler in each encounter, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's inspiration.

One run resulted off the opening delivery and from there the batsman was on her way.

"A chance to go out there and engage in competition with her and just have a bit of fun in that regard, somewhat inspired me," stated Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 deliveries - her swiftest at a World Cup - and her century in 84 as she flogged anything short, scoring 21 fours and three big hits.

By the time she was removed her side needed 66 additional runs at a run-a-ball - an unconquered height now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"Pursuing 330 is new territory so I'm pleased we have the belief to achieve that now," stated Healy further.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it another time but, if we do, we know we can achieve it."

These statements will be the ultimate thing rival teams at this World Cup should hear.

Over the past five days a sense they will succeed regardless of circumstances has grown stronger - this success coming after victory over Pakistan by 107 runs despite sitting at 76-7 at one point.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before an encounter with traditional opponents England in Indore in ten days, by which point a last-four spot may well be secure.

During that phase they were eliminated from last year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - an encounter Healy was absent due to damaged tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the inaugural occasion at an important competition.
